Great teachers back then. As for wrestling---intuition counts.

I suspect that your Francophile self will be torn when you learn that I agreed to forgo art and music classes from 5th to 8th grade in order to take French classes. By virtue of a teacher change midstream plus eventual transition to high school, it meant that I had French 101 three times over. I didn’t achieve fluency, but I‘m bilingual in Catholic prayers until my dying day. Once I got over a brain cramp trying to remember what my old gym teacher’s name was (thanks for that…lol), you had my mouth hanging open with the “spanking” story. Holy moly…I’m not even sure what to say about that one. Umm…how irregular??? I agreed to watch a cousin wrestle when he was in junior high one time and I couldn’t take the strain of it. I had my hand over my eyes half the time. I can only imagine what it felt like for you for a month. Good grief it’s intense. Thank God you listened to what your body was telling you when you did. I’m sorry that it came with a dose of guilt from the coach. It seems like you took more than your fair share of hits in your youth, both literally and figuratively, but you seem to have a talent for getting back up. Bravo, Moose. : )

I really enjoy your writing style and how you relate so many past experiences to present situations. Keep it up!
