I have Swanson 5mg lithium orotate. Now I wonder - how many mg of actual elemental lithium is that? On the label, it says: "5mg lithium (from lithium orotate)." Sigh. Now I can see why you wrote to the manufacturers.

Off topic: I started with baobab a few days ago, per something you wrote a while back, because I started getting some symptoms that might be "spike-related", and my Ab counts are a little disagreeable (~1200). Some pretty interesting results - quite positive. And crazy fast too. Thanks for that post. If it continues and my Ab results show a decline, I'll write it up.

I read the labeled ingredients and look for clinical benefit personally, and listen to patients’ reported experiences. I also discuss brands with our trusted compounding pharmacy colleagues who sometimes have access to third party testing. We use FullScripts for most of our ordering, because they have good stock rotation and climate controlled warehouses. Amazon does not. I have used NOW products for >30 years, but many have silicon dioxide, which Dr Hazan told me inhibits Bifida in the gut.

Thank you for replying. :). I’m pretty sure this reply is to me, Jessica. And I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Either you’re a wise guy or more arithmetically impaired than me.

On the first count I appreciate your humor. On the second, I’m sorry that my strenuous efforts couldn’t make things clearer to you.

So 5mg of active Lithium = 5mg of Lithium Ortate?

And you fixed the Solar panels without Duct tape and Bail wire?

I’m surprised to see you discussing supplement companies Horbaach and Doublewood in your article. Do you actually trust and recommend them? If so, why? In searching for value in my supplements, but also integrity of product, I’ve had experiences and read reviews that lead me to avoid those two companies.

Can you please tell me how/why you trust them (to have what they say and to have it be only that)? I’m not challenging you, I’m genuinely trying to learn bec they often ARE cheaper.

For value, I tend to turn to Now and BulkSupplements, or the Gold or Lake Avenue house brands of iherb, or other things iherb has in their testing program. What do you think of those companies?

Thank you for the lithium article as I have been intuitively wondering if “microdosing” (just what I was calling it in my mind) lithium would be helpful for me but I had not seen any info on it so Thank You!!! :-)
